Police on Monday filed the warrant seeking information from the Facebook account that belongs to Stephanie Watkins, wife of Aliquippa Sgt. Kenneth Watkins was placed on leave following the shooting death of Rachael DelTondo outside of her mother's Buchanan Street home.
Aliquippa police Chief Donald Couch said Watkins was close with DelTondo and her family, and Watkins being placed on leave was not for disciplinary reasons. Couch would not address the speculation that Watkins' teenage daughter might have been a witness to the crime, but she was reportedly with DelTondo the night of the shooting.
The latest warrant seeks Stephanie Watkins' Facebook data from May 11 to May 15, including basic profile information and private messages. The warrant does not say why police are looking for the information. Police have sought warrants in the case in regards to Sheldon Jeter Jr. Jeter's attorney, Michael Santicola, told The Times his client did not kill DelTondo and has been cooperating with investigators.
Police obtained search warrants last week for Jeter's cell phone and items from his home. Jeter and DelTondo were linked after a police incident report was leaked to the media late last year. The report, which was sent by an anonymous email, detailed an incident in which officers found DelTondo and a juvenile, who claimed to be a former student, parked in a car at about 2 a.
The juvenile was Jeter. According to the incident report, police were on regular patrol at about 1: Officials at PA Cyber said records indicate Jeter was never a registered student at the school. Santicola acknowledged last week that DelTondo and Jeter had remained friends who exchanged phone calls and text messages.
